The British Know How to Live

So, the person of the day for today, April 1st, is sexy man George Bush. Haha April Fools. Me funny. Actually, the cool person of the day is none other than *drumroll*...KATIE MCGEE. So, I remember when I first saw Katie. It was during one of my classes...don't remember which one, but she kept on getting the right answer whenever she raised her hand, and I was like "Damn, this girl is smart!" I had been friends with Steph for a while at the time, and gradually both of us kind of got to know Katie in 6th grade. By the end of the year, the three of us became inseparable. I could tell Katie anything, and though she could be sweet and perfectly nice, she also could listen to anything I had to say and did not act immature or babyish. At the end of last year, we grew apart, and I was devastated. I made many new friends, but none of them could replace my hippo. We talked a lot and eventually worked things out, but by then we had drifted into different groups you could say. We're even in different "groups" now, I suppose you could say, but nothing can really keep me away from her. I have many great friends, but nobody understands me as well as Katie. I may not spend as much time with her during the day as I used to, but still, those moments we spend together are precious to me. It seems to me as though we have this understanding of each other which nobody else can achieve. We've had so many wonderful experiences together, from boyfriends to cupcakes. She's been there for me like no one else has, and I like to think I have too. I think I've had more inside jokes with Katie than with everyone in our whole grade put together. She's incredibly smart, but also hilarious ot hang around with. During class, she's meek as a mouse, but out of class she becomes this wonderful lively amazing girl who has the best laugh on Earth. I've known more than one guy who have fallen for her, and honestly, i don't blame them. Wait, did that sound gay? Well I didn't mean it to lol. Anyway, last time Katie and I had a real blast was at her house. We went to the "Mitchell Park" dance, which turned out not to exist, so instead we went to her house and made cupcakes which turned out to be retarded and weird, and then we watched a Buffy clip where Buffy and Spike are going at it, and Katie's mom thought we were watching porn. It was so much fun. So Katie, come over and we'll do it again! Anyway, here's to Katie--one of the greatest friends I've ever had. May we continue to make spray paint cupcakes forever!

Well, yesterday's post seems to have started a tradition. I will now start to include posts dedicated to specific people whom I admire and love. Today's "Cool Person" will be Meredith Harding. Meredith has this unique ability to make everyone laugh. I remember the first time I met her right before sixth grade, I was alarmed at how energetic she is. Sometimes she manages to get on the wrong side of teachers, but they always love her in the end because she is so unbelievable brilliant. Whenever Meredith is in one of my classes, the teacher spends half the time trying to get us to stop laughing. One thing I noticed is that Mer doesn't act as funny as she is to suck up attention from everyone. She just does it because it's in her nature, and that makes her all the more funny. She has the most amazing jazz voice in the world, and she dazzles everyone around when she sings "All That Jazz." Especially when she does it in her Russian accent with the modified lyrics. Meredith also can have the biggest and best attitude in the world. I'm talking to her right now, and she was just telling me about this guy. And I quote...
Backkick91 (3:37:18 PM): he was like "im so bored i'm playing neopets"
Backkick91 (3:37:20 PM): so i was like
Backkick91 (3:37:23 PM): "HAHAHAHA"
Backkick91 (3:37:24 PM): hes like
Backkick91 (3:37:27 PM): "ouch"
Backkick91 (3:37:28 PM): and i was like
Backkick91 (3:37:31 PM): "ur such a loser"
Backkick91 (3:37:55 PM): and he was like "i dont want to talk to people who r mean to me"
Backkick91 (3:38:03 PM): and i was like "..."
Backkick91 (3:38:27 PM): and he was liek "whats that for? did i use too big of words for u?? or r u just stupid?"

Backkick91 (3:38:54 PM): SENSITVE
Backkick91 (3:38:58 PM): and then
Backkick91 (3:39:28 PM): i said "well, i can be stupid. but mostly not. usually im relativly intelligent. like a fish"
Backkick91 (3:39:41 PM): and he warned me klike 85%R
Backkick91 (3:39:45 PM): *85%
Backkick91 (3:40:45 PM): hes like
Backkick91 (3:40:47 PM): gross
Backkick91 (3:40:50 PM): and
Backkick91 (3:40:50 PM): stupid
Backkick91 (3:40:51 PM): and
Backkick91 (3:40:54 PM): sensitive
Backkick91 (3:40:54 PM): and
Backkick91 (3:40:56 PM): retarded
Backkick91 (3:41:13 PM): ;-)
Backkick91 (3:42:07 PM): u need to find me a bf
Backkick91 (3:42:16 PM): im recruiting a load of ppl
Ok, so a bunch of people would either be acting indignant as to how a guy could be so rude to them, or they could stil be arguing with the guy, but Mer? She tells the guy that she is as intelligent as a fish, and hires me as a boyfriend recruiter. I take my hat off to this brilliant, hilarious dimpled girl. Oh and if you meet a hot guy, save him for Meredith, because she feels like getting a boyfriend.

Ok, so I want to take this chance to write a post dedicated to one of my best friends, Anna P. Anna is by far one of the most intelligent teenagers I know. She never fails to help me with a math problem, or to make me feel bad by easily acing every single one of her classes. But unlike many people, Anna doesn't act overly modest about it, nor does she show her intelligence off. She accepts things as they are and goes along with them. But Anna isn't only brilliant in the area of academics. She is the strongest person I have ever met in my entire life. She is not scared of anyone, and always takes a stand for what she believes in. Anna probably does have one of the biggest attitudes I've ever seen, but though some people may consider this a bad thing, I on the other hand respect her for it. Though it may get scary and intimidating at times (sorry dear), it never fails her in the way that when she sees something she doesn't like, she will fight to change it. Because of this, she is also a great leader, and nothing can stop her from getting what she things is better for everyone. She was president of the eighth grade class early on in the year, and though she was probably the most strict president we've had, she was also the best. She kept every one in line and benifited the class. But most importantly, Anna is an amazing friend. She isn't scared to tell me when she thinks I need to work on some aspect of my personality, or when I'm doing something wrong. I can tell her anything, because I feel comfortable knowing she won't think I am a freak. She might tell me I'm totally retarded or something, but she just listens and tells me honestly what she thinks. She's not one of those people who tell others what they want to hear. She tells them the truth, and for this, I hold her in high respect. She is a very loyal friend and does not go around using people. When she's friends with you, it's not just a little friendly thing. She actually expects trust from you, and gives you the same in return. Anna is also extremely talented. Though she's one of the shortest people in the grade (sorry to rub it in love), her acting and singing skills blow us all away, no matter how tall. She acts with an enormous passion, and her voice is a true gift. Not many people have to go through what she has to go through, but she stands up to every problem she faces straight on. She is the most courageous person I know, and Anna, you are my hero. I love you with all my heart.
